GrooveTag does not store, transmit or process any personal data of its users. The app collects no usage statistics, performs no tracking and contains no analytics tools. All music files and metadata you manage remain exclusively on your local device.
Shazam (Apple Inc.)
GrooveTag offers the option to identify songs using Apple's Shazam service. When this feature is actively used, audio data is transmitted to Apple's servers for recognition. Apple Music (Apple Inc.)
GrooveTag can retrieve metadata (e.g. title, artist, album, genre) via Apple's Apple Music API. Search queries containing song information are transmitted to Apple's servers. No subscription, no registration
Using GrooveTag does not require registration, a user account or a subscription. No email addresses or other contact details are collected.
Internet connection
An internet connection is required for the following features: Shazam recognition, Apple Music metadata retrieval and web radio streaming. The core features of the app – MP3 playback, playlist management and ID3 tag editing – work fully offline.
